These patterns are the basic patterns at the root of all the other zill patterns. Master these, and you can play any pattern!

Gallop: played as a sequence of triples (wherein there are 3 zill beats per beat in a four-beat measure).

The standard 3-beat gallop.

Alternating: a sequence of fast beats played on alternating hands.

Standard alternating pattern.

Hajah: 5 beats played in a 4-beat measure.

A lyrical 5-beat rhythm played in a 4-beat measure.
