1. Drum beats are totally electronically produced and mixed on computer, which enhances the distinction between low-pitched (dum) and high-pitched (tek) sounds, and provides for precision timing. Students will benefit early in their training, and develop a good timing sense from the start.
2. All tracks include a metered metronome overlay, which assists students in recognizing the meter intuitively, rather than intellectually. This enhances the internalization of the rhythms, so that “counting” and playing them become natural and nearly effortless.
3. The rhythms begin with a minimal number of beats required to produce them, and evolve to more complex patterns as the rhythms progress. This progression lends a sense of continuity to the learning experience.
